Miami 2025 OL class remains in good shape despite Takaylen Muex de-commitment
Four-star prospect Seuseu Alofaituli and three-star Max Buchanan, Demetrius Campbell and Jaden Wilkerson provide Miami with a good remaining 2025 offensive line class despite a de-commitment from T.K, Muex on Tuesday. Miami still has the 11th best 2025 class following the de-commitment from Muex.
Miami regained a commitment from four-star wide receiver Malachi Toney on Monday. Toney previously de-committed from Miami in early October. Muex is the 1,189 prospect, 83th interior OL and 157th player in Florida out of Neptune Beach Duncan U. Fletcher. Muex committed to Miami in May before taking his official visit.
According to his 247Sports profile page, Florida Atlantic is the only other school Muex visited. Per various recruiting sites Central Florida, Charlotte, Louisville and Troy are among the other programs that have been recruiting Muex. Alofaituli, Buchanan and Campbell are higher-ranked prospects than Muex and Wilkerson is lower.
Alofaituli is the top-ranked player in the 2025 Miami class, the 88th-ranked prospect overall, fifth IOL and third player in Nevada out of legendary Bishop Gorman. There has been some analysis Alofaituli could be ready to start at center for Miami in 2025 as a true freshman replacing Zach Carpenter.
In addition to Carpenter, Miami is expected to lose starting left tackle Jalen Rivers who has one year of eligibility remaining beyond 2025. Backup OL Luis Cristobal is in his final year of eligibility. The Miami OL earned a spot on the midseason honor roll for the Joe Moore Award.
Miami OL coach Alex Mirabal has been the primary recruiter for Muex and offensive coordinator Shannon Dawson has been his secondary contact. Miami could pivot to other OL in the 2025 class who are higher ranked. Under Mario Cristobal and Mirabal, the OL has become a priority for Miami.
Five-star offensive tackles Francis Mauigoa and Samson Okunlola signed with Miami in the 2023 class. Mauigoa has started throughout his Miami career. Okunlola has struggled with injuries that have limited his playing time. Cristobal and Mirabal have made Miami a recruiting destination for OL.
