With commitments from four-star prospect, tight end Israel Biggs, wide receiver Vance Spafford and edge rusher Asharri Charles earlier this week and WR Tyran Evans on Wednesday, Miami could potentially sign its best class under Mario Cristobal and finish in the top five nationally.
The 2026 Miami class is currently sixth nationally following the commitment from Evans. With 18 committed players, other prospects trending to Miami with 247Sports crystal balls and several players announcing their commitments within the next two weeks, the 2026 class should continue trending upward.
Miami currently has 253.74 points in the 247Sports system. The 2024 Miami class finished with 297.05 points and fourth nationally in the 247Sports composite rankings. Miami has received a crystal ball or is favored by On3 for a commitment from eight players in the 2026 class.
Commitments from those eight players would boost the 2026 Miami class to 26 commitments and 277.52 points. Ohio State currently has the fifth-ranked 2026 class in the 247Sports composite rankings. The potential of reaching 277.52 points in the 2026 class would currently put Miami third nationally.

USC has the top-ranked 2026 class with 298.72 points and Texas A&M is second with 280.58. Notre Dame is currently third with 276.86 points. Miami is in position to move into the top five 2026 classes, depending on who the five programs in front of the Hurricanes receive commitments from and sign.
Players who have commitment announcements scheduled in the next few weeks that are trending to Miami are four-star tight ends Zachery Turner on July 5 and Heze Kent and five-star running back Derrek Cooper on July 12.
Briggs, Kent and Turner would give Miami three TEs in the 2026 class after the Hurricanes signed two in 2025. Cooper is potentially the most important uncommitted prospect Miami is pursuing in the 2026 class. Gaby Urrutia of Inside the U is the only crystal ball logged with a projection of Cooper to Miami.
On3 projects a two-team race in the recruitment of Cooper, with Miami at a 48.6 percent chance for a commitment and Georgia at 38.1 percent. Cooper would be a foundational player for Miami in the 2026 class. This should be the third time in four full recruiting cycles under Cristobal that Miami signed a top 10 class.
