Miami will play its Atlantic Coast Conference opener on Oct. 4 at Florida State as announced on Friday afternoon. The game vs. Florida State will come at the end of a six-week stretch after Miami hosts Notre Dame in the season opener on Aug. 30 and Florida on Sept. 20.
Miami ended a three-game losing streak to Florida State with a 36-14 win in October. The announcement of the Miami at Florida State game came as part of a release by the ACC for the 2025 conference openers for all teams. The ACC will announce the rest of the conference schedule during a special on Monday night.
Miami leads the all-time series with Florida State 36-33. Mario Cristobal is 1-2 as the Miami head coach versus Florida State. Miami is coming off of a 10-3 season with a 6-2 record in the ACC. Florida State finished the 2024 season 2-10 overall and 1-7 in the ACC with its lone win over California.
The game time for Miami at Florida State will be announced during the season. Miami returns three starters on offense and six on defense entering the 2025 season. The Hurricanes have the fourth-best transfer portal class led by quarterback Carson Beck from Georgia.

Miami projects to have one of the most difficult schedules in college football in 2025. Notre Dame was the 2024 national runner-up. Miami plays at 2024 College Football Playoff participant SMU. Florida should be vastly improved and several of the 2025 Miami opponents played in 2024 bowl games.
Florida State is one of four road ACC games for Miami in 2025. Pittsburgh and Virginia Tech are the other ACC road games for Miami, in addition to SMU. Bethune-Cookman and South Florida are the other Miami non-conference games at Hard Rock Stadium. Miami hosts Louisville, North Carolina State, Stanford and Syracuse in its ACC home games.
