Mario Cristobal and his staff have flipped five prospects in the 2026 class. Miami flipped 2026 four-star prospects Vance Spafford, Jaelan Waters and Jontavius Wyman and three-stars Justin Edwards and Tyran Evans in the 2026 class. All five flips were from other power conference programs.

Spafford is the third-highest-rated prospect in the 2026 Miami class, the top-ranked flip and the second player to de-commit from Georgia and commit to the Hurricanes after Wyman. Georgia held a commitment from Safford from November 5, 2024, through June 23, when he decommitted from the Bulldogs and committed to Miami.

Miami is the third school Waters has committed to. Florida State held the initial commitment from Waters for just over five weeks during the spring of 2024. Waters committed to Florida in June 2024. Florida held a commitment from Waters through February 15 and he flipped to Miami on March 7.

Wyman was the second flip to Miami on April 5. Georgia held the commitment from Wyman from July 27, 2024, through the day he flipped to Miami. Per his 247Sports profile page, Wyman took official visits to Miami and Georgia in June.

Edwards committed to Rutgers on June 8 after taking his official visit there. Miami hosted Edwards the weekend of June 21. Edward decommitted from Rutgers that weekend and committed to Miami while on his official visit with the Hurricanes, per 247Sports.

Evans initially committed to Tennessee on January 5. Miami hosted Evans the weekend of June 13. Evans decommitted from Tennessee on June 18. Miami received the commitment from Evans on June 18. Gaby Urrutia of Inside the U reported when Evans flipped to Miami that he cancelled his official visit to Tennessee.

Including the five flips, Miami has 19 commits in their 2026 class that ranks 19th nationally in the 247Sports composite rankings. Miami is far from finished in the 2026 class. Several uncommitted prospects are trending to Miami and Cristobal has always flipped players late in the recruiting cycle with the Hurricanes.
