Miami alum Chris Fallica trolls FSU comparing wins to Cam Ward TD receptions
Miami alum and longtime college football prognosticator Chris Fallica perfectly trolled Florida State earlier this week by comparing the amount of ACC wins for the Seminoles to touchdown receptions from Hurricanes' quarterback Cam Ward. Ward caught his only TD pass this season versus FSU.
Tight end Elijah Arroyo received the ball on a reverse and threw a left-handed pass to Ward for a seven-yard TD versus FSU to put Miami up 29-7 in the fourth quarter and put the game away on October 26. Florida State completed its ACC schedule with one win and seven losses.
Florida State finishes the season at Notre Dame on Saturday, versus Charleston Southern on November 23 and versus Florida on November 30. The Seminoles are 1-8 overall after finishing the 2023 season 13-1. Florida State was 8-0 in the ACC in 2023 and won the conference championship.
A year later, the Seminoles program is in a deep hole. Per FanDuel, Notre Dame is a 25.5-point over Florida State on Saturday, which would have been unfathomable a year ago. The ESPN Football Power Index gives Florida State a 3.5 percent chance to beat Notre Dame on Saturday.
Florida State is given a 98.2 percent chance to beat Charleston Southern and is at 22.7 percent to beat Florida in their final game of the season. The FPI ranks Florida State 71st nationally. Florida State is projected to finish with 2.2 wins and 9.8 losses. The 0.2 win comes from the 22.7 percent chance to beat Florida.
Ward is one of nine Miami players who have TD receptions in 2024. Only five Florida State receivers have TD receptions in 2024. Ward would be tied for third on FSU in TD receptions. Ward is also first nationally with 29 TD passes, third averaging 349.6 passing yards per game and with 9.8 yards per attempt and fifth with a 175.14 passer rating.
FanDuel lists Ward as the co-favorite to win the Heisman Trophy with Colorado defensive back and wide receiver Travis Hunter at plus 185. Ward is on pace to set the Miami single-season passing yardage record and needs only one more TD to set the Miami single-season record and become the first Hurricane with 30 in one year.
