Four‑star cornerback Brody Jennings, who is currently committed to Michigan, has Florida and Miami showing persistent interest, according to Chad Simmons of On3 Recruits.

A 6‑foot‑1, 185‑pound DB from Mandarin High School in Jacksonville, Jennings has faithfully worn the maize and blue since his verbal commitment last July. But neither Florida nor Miami has given up on the in-state prospect. Jennings recently told Chad Simmons, “I am not shutting things down yet,” leaving the door open for one of the Florida schools to swoop in.

On3 ranks Jennings among the Class of 2026’s top cornerbacks. The recruiting service has him at No. 22 at his position and No. 274 overall. His official visit list was Michigan, Miami, Florida, Georgia and Illinois.

While things remain unclear whether a flip is possible, Miami made a good impression on Jennings. Jennings recently called his official visit to Miami “great” and confessed, “I don’t know if any other school is topping this official visit,” praising coaches Mario Cristobal, Will Harris, and Zac Etheridge. That visit took place May 30, launching what could be a race between the schools.

Florida also jumped into his OV rotation with a visit on June 6, and Georgia hosted him June 13. Illinois followed suit and Michigan wrapped up its official visit on June 20. With all five completed, Jennings is in position to weigh all his options before a final call.

Miami currently has three cornerbacks committed for the class of 2026. Jaelen Waters, Jontavius Wyman and Camdin Portis are all considered 4-star recruits by the On3 Industry Rankings. All CB's are ranked top 30 in the position with Waters at 17, Wyman at 21 and Portis at 30. Miami currently ranks as the No. 9 team in the country for the 2026 recruiting class just behind Alabama at No. 8 and Clemson at No. 7.
