Miami added another experienced piece on Saturday with Saint Peter's transfer guard Brent Bland committing to HC Jai Lucas and the Hurricanes.
Bland, a 6-foot-3 senior guard, made 79 three-pointers this season while averaging 13.9 points, 5.0 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 2.0 steals per game. He started all 29 games for Saint Peter's and shot 36.9% from 3-point range on 214 attempts. Last year was his first season of real production in college.

Brent Bland gives Miami another shooter in latest transfer addition
Bland attempted 214 three-pointers last season. He made 79 of them, including six 3-pointers against Fairleigh Dickinson and Delaware. He was the Peacocks' leader in points, 3-pointers, steals and minutes played.
Bland scored 25 points and made five 3-pointers against VCU, then added 21 points against Georgetown.
Brent Bland's career up to this point
- 2021-22: Redshirted and did not appear in any games.
- 2022-23: Played 32 games and averaged 3.4 points and 1.9 rebounds per game. He shot 31.1% from the field, 28.0% from 3-point range and 66.7% from the line, making 26 threes on the season.
- 2023-24: Played 33 games with 20 starts and averaged 5.1 points, 2.8 rebounds, 1.1 assists and 1.2 steals per game. He shot 31.2% from the field, 30.5% from 3-point range and 75.0% from the line, making 39 threes.Â
- 2024-25: Played only five games with one start before being sidelined for the season by injury. He averaged 4.4 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.0 steal per game. He shot 31.8% from the field and 31.6% from 3-point range, making six threes.Â
- 2025-26: Had his breakout season, starting all 29 games and averaging 13.9 points, 5.0 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 2.0 steals per game. He shot 38.8% from the field, 36.9% from 3-point range and 78.3% from the line, making 79 threes on 214 attempts.
