With the hated Florida Gators coming into town, the Miami Hurricanes will be hosting many of the top recruits in the country. One of the faces in the crowd will be 5-star wide receiver Jamier Brown.

Brown, a 2027 prospect from Dayton, Ohio, is committed to the Ohio State Buckeyes, but that won't stop him from checking out Miami this weekend. Another 5-star receiver from the 2027 class, Monshun Sales, will also be in attendance on Saturday night. The 6-foot-6 pass catcher from Indianapolis is currently undecided.

Brown and Sales are just two names among the roughly 100 prospects that have confirmed their attendance for Saturday night's game. Other names include 5-star edge rusher Anthony "Tank" Jones, an Oregon commit, and blue-chip defensive lineman Nolan Wilson, who is committed to Alabama.

Miami will also have most, if not all, of their commits from the 2026 class, in the house as well. It promises to be an amazing opportunity for Mario Cristobal to show off the program he's built in front of top prospects around the nation.

A necessary destination for top recruits

Miami has always had the advantage of location. It's quite a city with the reputation of South Beach and fast cars and sunshine and scenery. Those that have spent any significant time in the city know that it's much more than the tourist hot spots, but for outsiders, Miami is a cool place to go and see what's poppin'.

Even when the Hurricanes were struggling, the program could attract top recruits to take official visits because they wanted to hang out for an all-expenses paid trip to Miami for the weekend. But those players weren't taking the program seriously. Cristobal knew that had to change and the on-field product had to be one that top prospects could see themselves playing at.

The truth is, it would be hard for Miami to flip a kid like Brown. He's from Dayton, Ohio and committed to the Buckeyes. That's going to be hard to overcome. But he's taking a trip to watch Miami football because he has respect for the product and the program. And that leads to great success on the trail.
