Nick Lennear, a Rivals300 Top 100 wide receiver from Miami Carol City, gave the Hurricanes a verbal commitment Thursday night during the program's annual 305 Day recruiting push. Lennear is ranked No. 26 nationally in the Rivals300, and Rivals lists him as the No. 6 wide receiver and the No. 5 prospect in Florida in the 2027 class.

5-star WR Nick Lennear commits to the Miami Hurricanes

The 6-foot, 165-pound receiver has been one of the headliners in South Florida for a while, and he was a Navy All-American who was trending toward Miami as the Hurricanes picked up steam in the fall.

Miami's staff treated Lennear like a priority from the start. Cristobal and wide receivers coach Kevin Beard saw him during the winter contact period and did whatever they could to keep him in Coral Gables. Lennear has pointed directly to Beard's track record with Miami's young WRs as one of the main reasons he committed to the Hurricanes.

Malachi Toney's freshman year took the college football world by storm, in a way similar to Ohio State WR Jeremiah Smith. He logged 109 catches for 1,211 yards and 10 receiving touchdowns in 2025, along with ACC Rookie of the Year and ACC Offensive Rookie of the Year honors.

The Hurricanes now have two wide receiver commitments in the 2027 class, with Lennear joining Ah'Mari Stevens, a Chaminade-Madonna prospect who has been committed since Jan. 13, 2025. Rivals ranks Stevens at No. 229 nationally in the class, No. 30 among wide receivers, and No. 23 in Florida.

Coming off of a deep run in the CFP, the Hurricanes are now in the running for plenty of top recruits. If Leanner's commitment is a sign of anything, it's that Miami fans should start getting used to this type of recruiting news.
