Miami might be late to the party for 2026 four-star wide receiver Milan Parris, extending an offer to the 6-foot-5 Iowa State commit on Monday, but there’s something about The U that typically jumps to the front of the line. With Mario Cristobal and Miami in the mix for his top wide receiver recruit, Matt Campbell might be starting to sweat through his creased ball cap.
Parris is a freak with a 6-foot-9 wingspan to go with his 6-foot-5 frame, so the Stowe, Ohio native should be a high-level contested catch winner in college. If Miami can flip his commitment, he will be the third-highest-ranked wide receiver in a class that ranks No. 12 in the country.

Mario Cristobal and Miami spent big in the Transfer Portal to add Carson Beck this offseason in an attempt to atone for missing the ACC title game and the College Football Playoff last season, and in Week 1, they notched a huge win over Notre Dame with a team constructed much more in Cristobal’s preferred image.
While last season was all about Cam Ward and his offensive weapons, this year’s Hurricanes are strong along the lines of scrimmage, with one of the best offensive lines in the country and a dominant pass rush to spearhead the defense. Four-star freshman wide receiver Malachi Toney looks like a breakout star, but Beck and offensive coordinator Shannon Dawson won’t need to air it out to win games.
That’s exactly how Cristobal succeeded at Oregon, and how he wants to play in Coral Gables. Still, he knows he needs dynamic skill position players to make it all work. That’s why he continues to work to add a fourth wide receiver to a 2026 recruiting class that’s headlined by five-star offensive tackle Jackson Cantwell.
Iowa State has done an underratedly great job of developing wide receivers during Campbell’s tenure in Ames. Just this spring, the Cyclones had Jayden Higgins and Jaylin Noel drafted, coincidentally, both to the Houston Texans, where they joined Xavier Hutchinson, the program’s second-leading receiver all-time.
Still, Iowa State’s history at wide receiver pales in comparison to The U, with Santana Moss, Reggie Waynes, Andre Johnson, and Michael Irvin, who still patrols the sidelines on gameday for the Canes. That should give Cristobal a solid chance of flipping Parris, but it will be an uphill battle until national signing day.
