The Miami Hurricanes will conclude their two-game road trip on Saturday night at California. The Hurricanes have lost eight consecutive games. Duke, SMU and Stanford have each defeated Miami by at least 35 points in the last three games. Miami enters the game at California with losses in 15 of its last 16 games.

California is 10-9 overall and in 10th place in the ACC with a 3-5 conference record. Stanford basketball alum Mark Madsen is in his second season coaching his alma mater's arch rival. Madsen has a career record of 93-78 in six seasons and is 23-27 in his second season at California.

California is led by 6-7 sophomore guard Andrej Stojakovic, who is averaging 18.9 points per game, 4.4 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game. Stojakovic transferred from Stanford and is the son of former NBA star Peja. Guards Jeremiah Wilkinson and Jovan Blackshear are the only other California players averaging in double figures.

Forward Matthew Cleveland has been the only consistent player for Miami. Cleveland is averaging 14.3 PPG, 4.2 RPG and 1.1 APG this season and has scored at least 16 points in eight of the last night games. Miami needs a secondary scorer to have a chance to end the losing streak.

Miami at California predictions

It's been a rough go for the Canes - that'd be an understatement. Not only does Miami enter the game on Saturday with an eight-game losing streak, they have failed to cover in all those contests. Miami is 1-7 on the road versus the spread. California is 5-5-1 at home versus the spread, but has covered in its last two games at Haas Pavilion. We predict California to win by double digits.

This season is trending to be the worst in the history of the Miami basketball program. That is difficult to do with some of the teams Miami had in the early 1990s. Miami has collapsed two seasons after making the Final Four.
