Miami at Georgia Tech Final odds falling and predictions
The opening 10.5 spread for Miami at Georgia Tech is falling ahead of the game on Saturday. Miami is now a 9.5-point favorite per FanDuel as of late on Saturday night. The falling point spread likely was partially due to uncertainty if Georgia Tech starting quarterback Haynes King would play on Saturday.
Reports emerged late in the week that King is expected to play versus Miami. Georgia Tech running backs Chad Alexander and Jamal Haynes are also entering the game with injuries. With King out in the last two games for Georgia Tech the Yellow Jackets scored 19 points combined in losses to Notre Dame and Virginia Tech.
Miami continued to be the best offense nationally in a 53-31 win over Duke last week. Cam Ward threw for 400 yards and five touchdowns versus Duke. Xavier Restrepo had eight receptions for 146 yards and three TDs versus the Blue Devils. Georgia Tech does not match up well with the Miami passing game.
Miami needs to force Georgia Tech to be one-dimensional offensively. Georgia Tech is sixth in the ACC averaging 176.78 rushing yards per game and 12th averaging 245.6 passing yards per game. Under former offensive line coach Brent Key, Georgia Tech wants to establish the run.
Miami is currently minus 360 on the money line after opening at minus 385. Georgia Tech is plus 280 on the money line after opening at plus 300. Miami is also minus 122 at minus 9.5 and Georgia Tech is plus 100 getting the 9.5 points. The over/under for Saturday is 63.5.
Predictions
It is difficult to see Georgia Tech having an explosive enough offense to stay within 10 points of Miami. Miami and the money line have not failed this season. The gut bet is to take the under on the money line. Miami laying the points and the money line are the best bets on Saturday. Miami should win by at least two TDs.
