Louisville and Miami are two of the seven teams who won their regionals on the road. Louisville won the Nashville Regional hosted by number one overall national seed Vanderbilt. Louisville defeated East Tennessee State, Vanderbilt and Wright State in a three-game regional sweep to advance.

Miami defeated Alabama and Columbia and split two games with host and 16th national seed and Hattiesburg Regional host Southern Mississippi to advance to the Super Regional. In their three wins in Hattiesburg, Miami allowed seven runs to advance.

Miami enters the Super Regional 34-25 and finished 15-14 in the ACC, a half game ahead of Louisville. Louisville is 38-21 overall and finished 15-15 in the ACC. Miami is 8-15 on the road and Louisville is 27-7 at home in 2025. Louisville and Miami have not previously played in 2025.

Miami will have an edge in starting pitching, but Louisville scored 474 runs to 387 for Miami. A.J. Ciscar and Griffin Hugus gave Miami outstanding starts versus Alabama and Columbia in Hattiesburg.
