Miami continued its slide with its fourth consecutive loss on Saturday as North Carolina clinched the three-game series with a 4-2 win in Chapel Hill on Saturday. North Carolina won the opening game of the series 2-0 on Friday night. Miami dropped to 14-14 overall and 1-7 in the ACC with the loss on Saturday.
Miami took a 1-0 lead in the second inning when Derek Williams hit a one-out home run. North Carolina scored all the runs it needed in one inning for the second consecutive game. After committing five errors in a loss to Stetson on Wednesday, UNC scored its first runs on an error by Miami second baseman Dorian Gonzalez.
The Gonzalez error occurred with two outs. A Luke Stevenson single scored Sawyer Black to tie the game at two. A Hunter Stokley single scored Kane Kepley to give North Carolina the lead, with an RBI single to score Stevenson and give North Carolina the permanent lead. A Gavin Gallaher single scored Stevenson to make it 4-1.
A Fabio Peralta single scored Michael Torres in the sixth to cut the Miami deficit to 4-2. After six hits on Friday night, Miami had only four on Saturday. Jason DeCaro pitched 5.1 innings, allowing two earned runs on three hits with a walk and six strikeouts. Ryan Lynch pitched the final 3.2 innings to earn his first save.

Brian Walters pitched 3.2 innings, allowing nine hits, four unearned runs with no walks and four strikeouts. Michael Fernandez and Tate DeRias combined to pitch the final 4.1 innings for Miami without allowing a hit, walking two and recording six strikeouts.
Miami and North Carolina will play the final game of the series on Sunday at noon. Florida International is at Miami at Alex Rodriguez Park at Mark Light Field on Wednesday, before Miami plays at Pittsburgh next weekend.
