After winning both games against North Carolina State this weekend, Miami is moving up in the projected NCAA Tournament bracketology from Jonathan Wagner of On3. Wagner projects Miami as the second seed in the Auburn Regional. Auburn is projected as the number five national seed.
Wagner projects Coastal Athletic Association champion Northeastern as the third seed in the Auburn regional and Summit League champion Oral Roberts as the fourth seed. Auburn is currently fourth in the NCAA RPI, Miami is 25th, Northeastern is 32nd and Oral Roberts is 105th.
Miami is currently 29-18 overall and 14-9 in fifth place in the ACC. The Hurricanes are a game behind first-place Florida State. FSU holds the tiebreaker over Miami after winning two out of three games versus the Hurricanes in March.
North Carolina State is second in the ACC with a 15-8 record, and Georgia Tech and North Carolina are a half game in front of Miami in the conference with 15-9 records. Miami and North Carolina State were rained out on Sunday right after Max Galvin hit a home run in the third inning to give the Hurricanes a 2-0 lead.
