Miami swept Princeton in a four-game weekend series to improve to 7-1 this season. Only a loss on Tuesday to Florida Atlantic has kept Miami from beginning the season with eight consecutive wins. Miami swept Niagara in the season-opening three-game series last weekend.
Miami began the four-game weekend series versus Princeton with a 3-1 Friday night win. A Tyler Smith long second-inning home run was all Nick Robert and three relievers needed to secure the win on Friday night. Robert pitched five innings, allowing two hits and one unearned run with two walks and eight strikeouts for the win.
Max Galvin had three hits in three at-bats with a run scored and the other Miami and Will Smith allowed one hit and struck out two in the ninth inning to earn his first save. Princeton scored its only run on an RBI single by second baseman Jake Koonin. Princeton starter Sean Episcope allowed two runs in five innings to take the loss
Miami won the second game of the series and the first half of a doubleheader on Saturday 10-3. Shortstop Jake Ogden had two hits in four at-bats with a run scored and five runs batted in to lead Miami. Griffin Hugus had his second consecutive dominant start allowing two earned runs on one hit with two walks and nine strikeouts in six innings.

Alex Giroux pitched six innings, allowing one hit, two earned runs with two walks and nine strikeouts to earn the win in the second game of the doubleheader on Saturday in a 15-1 Miami win. Daniel Cuvet had four hits in five at-bats with a run scored, a home run and three RBIs.
Miami completed the four-game sweep over Princeton on Sunday with an 8-0 win. Ogden had a great game with three hits in three at-bats, two runs scored and three RBIs on Sunday to power the Miami win. After an Ogden RBI single gave Miami a 1-0 lead, designated hitter Bobby Marsh hit a grand slam to extend the Miami lead to 5-0.
Brian Walters did not allow a hit with one walk and six strikeouts and yet was taken out after six innings. Walters got the win to improve to 2-0. Three Miami pitchers allowed one over the final three innings as the Hurricanes improved to 7-1. Miami hosts Florida Gulf Coast on Wednesday before a three-game series at Florida next weekend.
