Tricia Cullop continued upgrading the Miami roster with the addition of UNLV leading scorer Amarachi Kimpson on Friday. Kimpson is the fourth incoming transfer to Miami this spring. The transfers join a top 10 freshman class that includes four players in the ESPN top 100.

Kimpson averaged 14.5 points per game, 2.9 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.2 steals while shooting 50.7 percent from the floor, 37.4 percent on three-point attempts and 83.3 percent from the free throw line with a 56.6 eFG percentage. Kimpson was named first-team All-Mountain West in 2024-25.

After the 2023-24 season, Kimpson was named Mountain West Freshman and Sixth Player of the Year. Kimpson is a 5'8 point guard. Miami previously added Vittoria Blasigh from South Florida and Gal Raviv from Quinnipiac to a remade backcourt for the 2025-26 season after losing Haley and Hanna Cavinder, who are out of eligibility.

Kimpson was ranked among the top 150 prospects in the 2023 class rankings. As an AAU player, Kimpson led Cy-Fair Elite out of the Houston area to the EYBL U17 Nike Nationals Championship in July 2022. Kimpson started all 33 games in 2024-25, after coming off the bench as a freshman.

Kimpson is the fourth incoming transfer for Miami in 2025-26. In addition to Blasigh and Raviv, Miami also added 6'2 forward Mya Kone from Florida International via James Madison. Kone missed all but one game during the 2024-25 season with an injury and is originally from Pompano Beach.

Miami now has 12 players projected on its official roster that does not include Kimpson yet. The transfers give Cullop needed experience to add to the high level of freshmen talent Miami signed in the 2025 class. Raviv has three years of eligibility remaining, while Blasigh, Kimpson and Kone each have two years left beginning in 2025-26.
