Virginia cruised past Miami 84-62 on Friday to punch their ticket to the ACC tournament championship game.
Ugonna Onyenso led the way with 17 points on an efficient 8-for-9 shooting performance, while Thijs De Ridder and Sam Lewis each chipped in 16 points. Malik Thomas added 15 points, nine of which came in the second half when Virginia put the game firmly out of reach.

Miami falls to Virginia 84-62
Virginia broke open what had been a tightly contested defensive game with a 13-2 run over the final 2:47 of the first half, taking a 38-23 lead into the break. Chance Mallory capped the run with a running 3-pointer at the buzzer following a Miami turnover.
The Hurricanes never found their footing after that. The lead grew to 18 points just six minutes into the second half as Miami struggled to find lanes against the taller Cavaliers, and the Hurricanes couldn't buy a bucket from deep, missing 10 of their first 11 attempts from behind the arc.
Miami made one last push, closing within 53-42 after Noam Dovrat hit a pair of 3-pointers and Shelton Henderson followed up a miss on a fastbreak with a two-handed dunk. But Thomas quickly extinguished any hope of a comeback. He scored eight of Virginia's next 10 points to push the lead back to 18 with eight minutes remaining, and Virginia's advantage eventually got to 26 late in the game.
Tru Washington led Miami with 13 points and Henderson added 12, but the Hurricanes shot just 39% from the field and were outrebounded 35-24.
The win improved Virginia to 29-4 under first-year head coach Ryan Odom. The Cavaliers will face the winner of Clemson and No. 1 Duke in Saturday's ACC title game, their first appearance in the championship since 2023. Miami, meanwhile, will turn its attention to its NCAA Tournament seeding.
