Five-star tight end Ahmad Hudson, a 6-foot-6, 230-pound standout from Ruston, Louisiana, has cut his recruitment to six schools: LSU, Miami, Missouri, Nebraska, USC and Texas A&M.

Hudson had roughly three dozen offers, trimmed that list to 12 in November and now has it down to six. He is also seriously pursuing the chance to play both football and basketball in college.

247Sports ranks Hudson as the No. 11 overall player in the 2027 class, the No. 1 tight end and the No. 2 prospect in Louisiana. The 247Sports Composite still has him as the No. 1 tight end nationally, with a No. 18 overall ranking. ESPN is also high on him, slotting Hudson 22nd in its Junior 300 while ranking him the No. 1 tight end, No. 10 regional prospect and No. 3 player in Louisiana.

In basketball, ESPN has Hudson ranked No. 19 in its ESPN 60 for the 2027 class. 247Sports ranks him No. 24 overall in the 2027 basketball class and No. 4 among power forwards, while the 247Sports Composite places him 29th nationally. On3's basketball industry comparison has him at No. 31 overall, and Miami has extended him an offer to play basketball as well.

Hudson helped his high school reach the Louisiana Division I Non-Select title game. He caught six passes for 169 yards and a touchdown in the 2025 state championship game and was named MVP despite a loss. As a sophomore on the hardwood, he averaged 21 points, 14 rebounds and three blocks per game.

LSU and Nebraska have momentum and Hudson is expected to visit LSU this weekend. He also has an upcoming Nebraska unofficial visit on March 28, to go along with four previous Nebraska trips. Hudson had earlier unofficial visits to Ole Miss, Alabama, Ohio State and Florida.

Miami's 2027 class currently has five commits with one being four-star tight end DeMarcus DeRoche.
