CJ Rosser, the No. 2 prospect in the 2027 Rivals Industry Ranking, says his recruitment is accelerating after a summer transfer to Orlando Southeastern Prep. The 6-foot-9 forward has had recent contact with Miami, Kentucky and Florida State and noted prior trips to UCF (football) and North Carolina.
Rosser's case is interesting since the race for his services includes three Florida teams — none of which is the defending national champion Florida Gators — and two of the most storied programs in college basketball history: North Carolina and Kentucky.

Rosser sits No. 2 nationally and No. 1 at his position in the Industry Ranking, while 247Sports lists him No. 3 overall and ESPN pegs him No. 4 in its 2027 ESPN 60. He measured 6-9/6-10 with perimeter skill at USA Basketball, where he helped the U.S. win the 2025 FIBA U16 AmeriCup and averaged 13.7 points and 6.2 rebounds in six starts.
Rosser has said Kentucky's pace and NBA track record stand out and that UNC impressed with its campus, gym and staff during a visit last year. He attended a UCF football game and liked the atmosphere, and he said Florida State's new head coach Luke Loucks has been in steady contact. Miami is in the mix as well as Rosser said assistant Russell Springmann is staying in touch.
For Miami, the relationship piece is clear, and it could provide an opportunity for Jai Lucas and the Hurricanes. Springmann joined Lucas' first staff in May and has deep high-major experience after stints at Texas, San Diego and Oral Roberts. With Rosser now playing his high school ball in Florida, proximity could matter as his process narrows.
Rosser has not released a timeline for a cut list or official visits, but expect Miami to remain active as the in-state five-star maps next steps.
