Ahead of the July 10 commitment announcement for five-star defensive lineman Lamar Brown, he has cancelled his official visit to LSU scheduled for this upcoming weekend. There is one 247Sports crystal ball logged for Brown to LSU and On3 projects the Tigers with a 96.3 percent chance for a commitment.

Brown is the seventh overall prospect in the 247Sports composite rankings and fifth in the On3 Industry Rankings. Both 247Sports and On3 rank Brown as the top DL and player in Louisiana out of Baton Rouge University Lab School. Miami, Texas and Texas A&M have hosted Brown for official visits during the last three weekends.

It appears with the cancellation of the official visit to LSU, the recruitment for Brown is down to Miami, Texas and Texas A&M. Brown posted to social media on Saturday, "think this one close the book" during his visit to Texas A&M.

Adam Gorney, the National Recruiting Director for Rivals.com, reposted Brown's post with his own caption, "Five-star has been leaning to A&M and made have taken the final step." With Brown cancelling his official visit to LSU, it appears Texas A&M was able to be the last team to host him.

A commitment from Brown would give Miami the top DL and number one consensus offensive tackle, with five-star Jackson Cantwell committed to the Hurricanes since last month. Three-star prospect Tyson Bacon became the first DL to commit to Miami in the 2026 class last week.

Miami has the eighth-ranked 2026 class in the 247Sports composite rankings and ninth in the On3 Industry Rankings. With next weekend the last one of official visits in June, most class of 2026 blue-chip and high-level three-star prospects will begin to finalize their decisions and begin making their commitment announcements.

Miami has official visits scheduled this weekend with four-star DL Vodney Cleveland and Nolan Wilson. Miami solidifying the DL in the 2026 class is important for Miami, with Rueben Bain expected to leave for the NFL Draft after the 2025 season and Akheem Mesidor entering his last season of eligibility.
