After seeing six former Miami teammates, including fellow defensive back, safety Jakobe Thomas, selected in the first three rounds of the NFL Draft, Keionte Scott is projected to be selected early in round four on the third and final day of the 2026 NFL Draft on Saturday by Jordan Reid of ESPN.

Matt Miller of ESPN projected Miami quarterback Carson Beck and Scott to be selected in the second round of the 2026 NFL Draft in a post published after the completion of the first round on Thursday night. Beck was selected with the first pick of the third round by the Arizona Cardinals.

Scott will have to wait until Saturday to be selected. Reid projects Scott to be selected 106th overall, sixth in the fourth round by the Houston Texans on Saturday. Houston was second in the NFL in points allowed, first in total defense, 16th in pass defense and fourth in run defense in 2025.

Scott was one of the most versatile players nationally in 2025 with 64 tackles, 13.0 tackles for loss, 5.0 sacks, two interceptions, both returned for touchdowns, five passes defended, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries.

Who else could pick Keionte Scott?

Reid projects the New York Jets and Los Angeles Chargers to select defensive backs in the fourth round, ahead of Houston. The Detroit Lions, Chicago Bears, New York Giants and Las Vegas Raiders are other teams to watch who could potentially draft Scott.

Detroit and the Giants need secondary help, while Chicago and Las Vegas need general defensive depth. Scott's versatility will make him a steal as a fourth-round pick. Scott was a major impact player for Miami defensively. Miami would not likely have advanced to the College Football Championship Game without Scott.

Scott is ranked as the third-best remaining player on the board by Pro Football Focus entering the third day of the 2026 NFL Draft. PFF said, "Scott is a tone-setter in run defense with a physical mentality. His zone coverage is adequate, but man coverage limitations may restrict his role."
