Bain has nine tackles, 1.5 TFLs, 1.5 sacks, 1.0 FF, one interception and 1.0 pass breakup in Miami wins over Notre Dame and Bethune-Cookman. His average of 4.5 tackles per game has Bain on pace to set a career high. Bain had 44 tackles, 12.5 TFLs, 7.5 sacks, 3.0 FFs, 1.0 PBU and 1.0 pass defended as a true freshman in 2023.
Bain played in only nine games during the 2024 season after suffering an injury in the season-opening 41-17 win over Florida that caused him to miss four contests. Pro Football Focus ranked Bain as the fourth-best returning edge rusher entering the 2025 season.
Bain was third nationally with 73 pressures among power conference edge rushers and fourth with a 16.9 percent win rate since 2023. Bain's 82.7 run defense grade was fourth among edge rushers in 2024 per PFF. Bain is 10th on the PFF 2026 NFL Draft Big Board.

Bain's performance versus Bethune-Cookman built on his contribution against Notre Dame with an 82.5 pass rush versus and 92.6 defensive grade versus the Fighting Irish. Bain is tied for 10th in the ACC in sacks with four others, including Miami DL Akheem Mesidor.
Bain helped Miami accumulate 10.0 TFLs versus Bethune-Cookman. Under new defensive coordinator Corey Hetherman, Miami is 29th nationally, averaging 7.5 TFLs per game and 58th, posting 2.0 sacks per game. Hetherman runs a more aggressive defense than Miami did in the last two seasons.
Bain has an overall defensive grade of 94.7 through the first two weeks of the 2025 season. Bain has lined up 18 times at outside tackle and 63 times over the offensive tackle. The versatility Bain provides Miami gives Hetherman a lot of flexibility about who he gives snaps to and how he calls the game.
