Miami ended a nearly two-year ACC road losing streak with a win at Wake Forest on Wednesday.

Miami won 81-77 at Wake Forest on Wednesday night to end a nearly two-year and 16-game ACC road losing streak. A Shelton Henderson put back with 26 seconds remaining put Miami ahead and Tre Donaldson made two free throws with nine seconds left for the final margin.

The last Miami road ACC win was 73-61 victory at Notre Dame on January 24, 2024. Miami lost its last six ACC road games in 2023-24 and all 10 in 2024-25 before winning its first game in an ACC opponent's building in 2024-25.

Miami earned its second road win this season with the victory at Wake Forest. The Hurricanes previously won 75-66 at Mississippi in the ACC/SEC Challenge on December 2. Miami improved to 13-2 with the win at Wake Forest.

Miami is off to its best start since the 2022-23 team that won the ACC regular season title and advanced to the Final Four of the NCAA Tournament started 14-2. Georgia Tech is at Miami on Saturday when the Hurricanes will have an opportunity to match the 14-2 start of three years ago.

Miami balance led to win

Donaldson led Miami with 21 points, Malik Reneau had 18, Tru Washington 13 and Ernest Udeh Jr. 10, who also paced the Hurricanes with 13 rebounds. Juke Harris led Wake Forest with 28 points, Nate Calmese 19 and Myles Colvin 13. Harris missed two free throws with 11 seconds left that could have tied the game.

The 13-2 start has Miami projected in the NCAA Tournament field in the updated Bracketology on ESPN today. Miami is 34th in the NCAA NetRatings. Miami earned its first 2025-26 quadrant one win and are now 2-0 in the ACC with the win at Wake Forest.

After hosting Georgia Tech, Miami is back on the road at Notre Dame and Clemson. Miami is one of only four ACC teams remaining that are undefeated in the conference. Duke has started ACC play 3-0, Clemson is 2-0 and SMU is 1-0 and playing on Wednesday night.
