Miami got some good news as it heads down the final stretch of ACC play: Shelton Henderson is OK.
Hurricanes coach Jai Lucas said Henderson "should be good" after the freshman went down late in Miami's win at Florida State earlier this week. "He's fine. It scared him more than it did anything," Lucas said. "He just tweaked it a little bit, but nothing serious. Got all the stuff done. So he should be good."

The scare happened with roughly four minutes left in the second half in Tallahassee, when Henderson went down grabbing at his knee and needed help getting to the locker room before returning minutes later. Henderson finished that night with 10 points and six rebounds as Miami beat Florida State 83-73 to move to 22-6 overall and 11-4 in the ACC.
Henderson has been one of the keys to Miami's rise under Lucas, giving the Hurricanes a reliable scoring option who also impacts the game defensively and on the glass. Henderson is averaging 14.3 points, 4.9 rebounds and 2.0 assists while shooting 58.2% from the field.
The Hurricanes return to the Watsco Center on Saturday at 2 p.m. to host Boston College on ACC Network.
Henderson played at Bellaire High School in Texas and was the 2025 Houston Chronicle All-Greater Houston Player of the Year and the Guy V. Lewis Award winner.
Henderson averaged 22.3 points, 7.5 rebounds, four assists and three steals per game as a senior, while shooting 69% from the field. He led Bellaire on a historic run to the UIL Class 6A Division I state championship game (a 54-52 loss to Duncanville). As a junior, he averaged 21.6 points, 7.6 rebounds, 3.9 assists, 2.9 steals and 1.4 blocks, leading Bellaire in every category.
