Kaden Henderson, the 6-foot-2, 215-pound standout from Tampa Jesuit, has narrowed his recruitment to Miami, Ohio State, Texas A&M, Alabama and Notre Dame. Rivals has Henderson ranked as the No. 1 linebacker in its updated 2027 Rivals300, checking in at No. 16 overall in the latest update.

Henderson was part of the 305 Day visitor crowd on Thursday.

No. 1 ranked LB in the nation, Kaden Henderson, has Miami in his top five

Corey Hetherman is entering his second season as Miami DC in 2026, and he is the primary recruiter for Henderson. If Miami is going to win this kind of battle against Notre Dame, Alabama, Ohio State and Texas A&M, it is going to have to get Henderson to buy into the blueprint on defense.

Henderson put up 49 total tackles and 9 sacks as a junior, plus 2 forced fumbles and 1 fumble recovery last season.

Henderson has spring visits set with Miami, Texas A&M, Ohio State and Notre Dame, while also still considering in-state options like Florida and Florida State. Friday's top five helps Miami in the sense that the Hurricanes shouldn't have to worry about other in-state schools, but none of the programs on the list are pushovers.

Miami's 2027 class has five commits, all from South Florida, and it's sitting No. 7 nationally and No. 1 in the ACC in the Rivals Industry team rankings. The group is receiver-led with Nick Lennear (WR, No. 26) and Ah'Mari Stevens (WR, No. 229), plus Jaylyn Jones (S, No. 232), Demarcus DeRoche (TE, No. 243) and Zaquan Linton (OT, No. 895).
