The University of Miami has secured a commitment from three-star interior offensive lineman Rhys Woodrow, a standout from Boone High School in Orlando, Florida. Woodrow announced his decision on Saturday night, choosing the Hurricanes over offers from Florida State, Florida, Georgia, and UCF.
Standing at 6-foot-4 and weighing 280 pounds (On3), Woodrow has been a varsity starter at Boone since his freshman year. Known for his quick feet and physical play, he excels in pass protection, pulling during run plays, and advancing in screen plays. His athleticism is further highlighted by his participation in baseball, making him a two-sport athlete.
In an age of two-sport athletes becoming less common, it is always something nice to see from a high school prospect. Rivals also lists him at 310 pounds, so to be able to play baseball shows his ability to move around at a high level, something not always seen by offensive lineman who are that size.
Woodrow's recruitment gained momentum following impressive spring performances. A home visit from Miami's offensive line coach Alex Mirabal earlier this month solidified his interest, leading to his commitment. Mirabal and head coach Mario Cristobal have a reputation for developing offensive line talent.
He becomes the fifth offensive lineman in Miami's 2026 recruiting class, joining five-star Jackson Cantwell and three-stars Ben Congdon, Joel Ervin, and JJ Sparks. The Hurricanes' class also includes four-star quarterback Dereon Coleman, four-star edge rusher Jordan Campbell, four-star running back Javian Mallory, four-star defensive backs Jontavius Wyman and Jaelen Waters, and three-star defensive back Camdin Portis.
Miami's 2026 recruiting class was ranked No. 8 in the nation prior to Woodrow's commitment, per On3. The Hurricanes are on a path to end in the top 10 for 2026 recruiting classes. According to On3, Florida State was second in the running for Woodrow with Herb Hand being the primary recruiter.
