Senior forward Kiree Huie who played only 14 games for Miami in 2024-25 has entered the transfer portal per Tobias Bass of The Athletic. Huie averaged 1.3 points per game and 1.7 rebounds with four blocks while shooting 47.4 percent as primarily the backup for Lynn Kidd while starting two games.

Before Miami, Huie averaged 11.3 points, 5.8 rebounds and 1.2 blocks while shooting 53.6 percent from the field at Idaho State in his one season with the Bengals in 2023-24. Huie spent his first two seasons at Oddessa College. Huie was unranked coming out of high and has remained so as a transfer by 247Sports.

New Miami head coach Jai Lucas will almost definitely have to replace the entire front line for the 2025-26 season. In addition to Huie and Kidd, Miami also loses starting forward Brandon Johnson and seldom used Yussif Basa-Ama who transferred to Miami from Yale in 2024.

Lucas stated in his introductory press conference on March 10 he expected the possibility of replacing all 13 Miami players on the roster. Freshman guard Austin Swartz entered the transfer portal earlier this week. Guards A.J. Staton-McCray, sophomore Paul Djobet and freshman Jalil Bethea remain on the Miami roster.

Staton-McCray participated in Senior Day and seems likely to move on with one season of eligibility remaining as a redshirt junior. Bethea and Djobet could potentially be foundational players for Lucas entering next season. Bethea was a five-star prospect and McDonald's All-America in 2024 and Djobet would give Miami experience.

Miami lost its only two early signees, center Ben Ahmed and guard Matthew Able following the retirement of Jim Larranaga. Able is reportedly still considering Miami. Able is the 26th-ranked prospect in the 2025 class by 247Sports and would be huge if Lucas could get him to re-commit to Miami.
