Miami will be without sophomore guard/forward Marcus Allen for the rest of the season. The official Miami basketball X page disclosed Allen has non-Hodgkin lymphoma. A GoFundMe page that has been set up for Allen has raised $1,000 of its $50,000 goal thus far.

Allen returned home to Miami after one season at Missouri. In high school, Allen averaged 22.7 points per game and 13.2 rebounds as a senior to lead Miami Norland to the 2024 Florida State championship. Allen was the 5A Player of the Year and Joe DiMaggio South Florida High School Player of the Year in 2024-24.

Allen averaged 5.3 PPG, 3.1 RPG and 1.6 assists, while shooting 42.4 percent from the field, 38.5 percent on three-point attempts and 69.2 percent from the free throw line while playing 18.9 minutes per game.

Allen was essentially the seventh man in the rotation over the first eight games for Miami in the Hurricanes' inaugural season under head coach Jai Lucas. Lucas and Miami signed Allen as the 248th transfer and 44th power forward in the 2025 portal per the 247Sports rankings.

Miami freshman guard Dante Allen (no relation to Marcus) has also missed the last four games with an injury. Dante Allen is averaging 7.0 PPG, 3.5 RPG, 2.9 APG and 1.4 steals per game. Lucas has had to go deeper into his bench with the two Allens out over the past four games.

With Dante and Marcus Allen out, forward Timothej Malovec and guard Noah Dovrat should continue to be the players who receive the biggest boost in playing time. Malovec is averaging 6.5 PPG, 2.0 RPG and 1.3 APG. Dovrat posts 4.4 PPG and 2.0 APG, while shooting 47.6 percent from the floor and 50.0 percent on three-point attempts.
