Miami basketball was able to post a convincing win over Georgetown on Friday night
Miami got sloppy late in the second half before the key baskets by Reneau. The Georgetown press (and not Hoya Paranoia) caused Miami several turnovers in the second half as the Hoyas got within 11 after trailing by as many as 24 points. Ten of Miami's 15 turnovers were in the second half.
Caleb Williams led Georgetown with 23 points and added six rebounds. Malik Mack with 16 and K.J. Lewis with 11 were the other Hoyas in double figures. Miami held Georgetown to 35.6 percent from the field and seven out of 26 on 3-point attempts. Georgetown was also 16 out of 24 from the free-throw line.
Miami will attempt to win its second consecutive game versus a power conference opponent when it is at Mississippi on Tuesday in the ACC/SEC Championship with a 9 p.m. ET start on the SEC Network. Miami returns home to host Mississippi on Dec. 6.
