Miami remains the third seed in the College Football post week seven rankings predictions after its 52-45 win over Louisville on Saturday. Other games influenced another jumble in the CFP predictions. Georgia winning at Texas on Saturday had the biggest influence on the CFP rankings predictions.

Georgia moves up to second in the CFP rankings prediction after the win over Texas. The loss by Texas allows Oregon to move up to first in the rankings. Georgia regains a predicted bye and is second. As the Big 10 and SEC teams continue to beat each other, Miami is in a position to move up to second in the CFP.

Iowa State remained undefeated with a win over Central Florida and stays as the fourth seed. Ohio State is fifth as the second-ranked team in the Big 10. Metrics have Ohio State as the top team nationally. Texas' loss to Georgia was their first this season and puts the Longhorns as the predicted CFP sixth seed.

After Texas, there is a sharp drop-off. Penn State is undefeated. Ohio State plays at Penn State on November 2 in a critical game in the Big 10 and CFP seeding. Tennessee slots in at eighth after their win over Alabama. LSU is ninth and Clemson 10th. Indiana grabs the final at-large CFP berth with Alabama falling out.

Boise State gains the 12th seed as the only ranked Group of Five team. UNLV hosts Boise State on Saturday in what could be the biggest 2024 Group of Five game. The Rebels and Broncos are both 2-0 in the Mountain West Conference. Boise State is 6-1 overall with its loss to Oregon. UNLV is 5-1 with a loss to Syracuse.

Miami has to keep winning to remove any doubt about gaining a College Football Playoff berth. At the least, Miami needs to win out in the regular season to avoid putting itself in a position for any doubts from the CFP committee if they lose the ACC Championship Game. A two-loss Big 10 or SEC team likely gets in the CFP over a two-loss ACC team.
