West Virginia transfer WR Cam Vaughn commits to Miami
Over the last two seasons, Vaughn has totaled 83 receptions for 1,344 yards and nine touchdowns. He posted 48 catches for 803 yards and five touchdowns in 2024, then followed it with 35 catches for 541 yards and four touchdowns in 2025.
Vaughn began his college career at Jacksonville State before transferring to West Virginia, and he did not always play receiver. He played quarterback in high school and moved before the start of his freshman year at Jacksonville State.
As a redshirt freshman at Jacksonville State in 2024, Vaughn earned All-Conference USA Freshman Team honors. His best game of that season came in the postseason, when he caught nine passes for 183 yards and a touchdown against Ohio in the Cure Bowl.
At West Virginia in 2025, Vaughn continued to produce as a vertical threat. He put up 15.5 yards per catch for the season and holds a mark of 16.2 yards per catch for his career. Vaughn led West Virginia in receptions, receiving yards and receiving touchdowns in 2025.
247Sports' transfer rankings list him in the 2026 cycle as a top-30 wide receiver in the portal at his position. On3 lists him with an 87.00 portal rating.
Vaughn is now the third transfer of the 2026 cycle for Miami, joining South Carolina wide receiver Vandrevius Jacobs and Boston College DB Omar Thornton. Miami is currently getting ready for a national championship matchup against Indiana on Jan. 19.
The Hurricanes will hope that the success on the field, and in the transfer portal, will be enough to convince former Arizona State QB Sam Leavitt to come to Coral Gables.
