Miami Hurricanes guard Matthew Cleveland has been recognized with All-ACC Honorable Mention status for the 2024-25 season. Cleveland received 49 votes, the highest among honorable mention selections, after a campaign in which he emerged as one of the ACC’s top scorers.

Cleveland finished the season averaging 17.6 points per game, ranking sixth in the ACC. His offensive production was a bright spot for a Miami team that faced inconsistencies throughout the year. Cleveland became the only ACC player this season to record three 30-point performances, including a pair of 32-point games.

His scoring ability was highlighted by a streak of seven consecutive 20-point games, something no Miami player had accomplished in the past two decades. He scored in double figures in 21 of 28 games, as Miami’s go-to option on offense.

While the Hurricanes had a down season, Cleveland’s playmaking ability and scoring touch kept them competitive. Whether attacking the rim or knocking down perimeter shots, he proved to be a versatile offensive weapon.

Cleveland joined Miami after transferring from Florida State, where he played two seasons before making the move within the ACC. One of Cleveland’s biggest improvements this season was his ability to stretch the floor. At Florida State, he struggled with three-point shooting, but at Miami, he showcased a more reliable jumper. His ability to shoot from deep added another dimension to his offensive game and allowed him to increase his points per game by 3.9 from last season.

With his two years at Miami, Cleveland has boosted his draft stock. His combination of size (6-foot-7), athleticism, and scoring ability makes him an intriguing NBA prospect. While he remains on the older side for a prospect, a team might take a flyer on him in the second round of the NBA Draft. Miami will look to replace his production and reload its roster after a challenging season.
