Miami has another ABC Primetime Game on ABC at Florida State

Miami will kick off at 7:30 PM Eastern Daylight Time on ABC at Florida State on October 4, as announced on Monday. The game at Florida State is the third primetime game Miami will play on ABC this season. Miami played primetime games on ABC versus Notre Dame on August 31 and against Florida on September 20.

Miami beat Notre Dame 27-24 and Florida 26-7. South Florida at Miami on September 13 was also on ABC with a 3:30 PM EDT kickoff. The 7:30 PM kickoff and primetime game increases the likelihood for Tallahassee to host ESPN College GameDay and for the lead ABC/ESPN announcing team to call the game.

Play-by-Play announcer Chris Fowler, analyst Kirk Herbstreit and sideline reporter Holly Rowe called the Miami win over Florida on Saturday. Miami has a bye this week and the week after they play Florida State. Miami at Florida State is the only week six game involving teams currently ranked in the top 10.

Miami is second and Florida State is eighth in the week five Associated Press top 25. After Florida State, Miami hosts Louisville, who has started the 2025 season with three consecutive wins. Florida State and Louisville are the only currently undefeated teams remaining on the 2025 Miami schedule.

Florida State is at Virginia on Friday night with a 6:00 PM EDT kickoff on ESPN. Barring a huge upset by Virginia, Miami will play at Florida State with both teams in the rankings for the first time since 2016. The 2016 game was the only time Florida State and Miami have played as ranked teams since 2011.

Miami will enter the game at Florida State with wins in its first four games for the third consecutive season. Florida State has had three dominant wins after winning two games and losing 10 in 2024. Florida State and Louisville are the only remaining Miami games with a designated kickoff time and TV network.
