For Melissa High last season, Goosby logged 699 total points in 29 games (24.1 PPG) with 205 rebounds (7.1 RPG), finishing among Dallas–Fort Worth’s scoring leaders and earning all-area recognition. His performance set the stage for a strong spring and summer on the Nike EYBL circuit with Drive Nation.
On EYBL weekends, he showed an all-around package. At Session 2, Goosby averaged 16.3 points, 6.5 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 2.8 steals while guiding Drive Nation to a 4–0 mark. He later landed Peach Jam Honorable Mention with a 15.2 PPG, 5.0 RPG, 1.8 APG, 1.8 SPG line. Goosby also letters in football at Melissa and is the younger brother of Texas left tackle Trevor Goosby.
247Sports director of scouting Adam Finkelstein highlighted his reported 6-9 wingspan and natural feel that shows up in his cutting, passing and quick decisions. Areas to sharpen are clear too with consistency from three (25% from long-range in EYBL sample) and building a stronger lower base to absorb contact being the notable parts of his game that need improvement. Goosby's defensive playmaking (about 1.6 steals and 1.3 blocks) is a positive sign for competing at the next level.
Recruitment-wise, the Hurricanes are competing in heavyweight company. He has upcoming official visits with Texas (Sept. 5-7), Baylor (Sept. 18-20), BYU (Sept. 26-28), Duke (Oct. 2-4) and Arizona State (TBD).
