Miami is getting to work in the transfer portal market. UTRGV (University of Texas Rio Grande Valley) guard Koree Cotton has heard from Miami, USC, Kansas, High Point, DePaul, Ole Miss and Providence, according to his agent, Larry Hall of HOF Sports Group.

Koree Cotton is an experienced two-way guard option
Cotton is a 6-foot-6, 210-pound guard from Miami Southridge High School. He just finished his junior season at UTRGV after previous stops at Jacksonville State and VMI. At UTRGV, Cotton put up 13.9 points, 5.3 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game.
Cotton started all 33 games while shooting 47.4% from the field, 40.3% from 3-point range and 78.1% from the foul line.
Cotton earned Southland Conference first-team all-conference and all-defensive team honors. He scored in double figures in 26 games, had seven 20-point games, and helped UTRGV finish 19-14 while setting a program record with 14 conference wins.
At Jacksonville State in 2024-25, Cotton averaged 7.3 points, 3.2 rebounds and 1.6 assists across 36 games with 34 starts. Before that, he averaged 12.3 points and 3.5 rebounds in 12 games at VMI during the 2023-24 season.

The Hurricanes have lost seniors Tre Donaldson, Malik Reneau and Ernest Udeh Jr., while Tru Washington, Noam Dovrat, Treyvon Maddox and John Laboy II have entered the transfer portal.
Dante Allen and Shelton Henderson will be returning, and Caleb Gaskins will be coming to Miami as a top-ranked high school prospect.
