Miami Hurricanes continue uphill battle for respect from AP voters and CFP committee

What will it require for the Miami Hurricanes to gain respect? It is an absolute travesty that the thirteenth ranked Hurricanes are four spots below the ninth ranked Fighting Irish, a team that the Canes defeated at the genesis of the college football season.

Miami is below Notre Dame despite head-to-head win

For some odd reason, the pollsters determined that the Miami Hurricanes head-to-head victory matchup, ultimately, was not credible enough to do right by the Canes.

Both the Miami Hurricanes and Notre Dame Fighting Irish sport identical win-loss records. Typically, teams with identical records, that have played each other, will have the team that defeated the other team, ranked higher. Regarding the Miami Hurricanes, the program has earned the right to benefit from the games the proud program has won.

With the 2025 college football season winding down, the Miami Hurricanes still have an "outside chance" of capturing a College Football playoff spot. There are not any pollsters, who should exhibit imprudent behavior. In recent years, the staff of the Canes, have led the program to experience some relevance.

Becoming the best, especially, among the nation, is potentially attainable in the future, but the storied program must remain focused on the goal that has eluded the program in consecutive seasons, which would result, in becoming a College Football Playoff participant.

It is quite baffling that the Hurricane victory over Notre Dame could not factor in the Miami Hurricanes receiving a more favorable position in the latest polls. There is not any fairness for the Canes when one factors in beating a team outright, but still being placed below them.

Many claim that life is not fair. In this scenario, it is clearly evident that the Miami Hurricanes football program has experienced a tremendous injustice. With two weeks left in the 2025 college regular season, it will be quite interesting how the Hurricanes will finish in the final college football rankings.

In the meantime, most Canes fans will be on edge, as to whether the Miami Hurricanes will be able to slide back into the playoff discussion.
