Miami is reportedly positioned well with Brookwood (Grayson, Ga.) four-star running back Brayden Tyson as the 2027 priority target returned to Hard Rock Stadium for last Saturday's game against Syracuse.
Tyson, listed at 6-foot-1 and 215 pounds, is the No. 161 overall prospect and No. 12 running back in the On3 Industry Ranking. He stars for Brookwood and is one of the headliners in the 2027 backfield class. This was his second fall trip to see the Hurricanes. Tyson was also on hand for Miami's season-opening win over Notre Dame on Aug. 31.
Tyson has taken unofficial visits to Texas (Sept. 20) and South Carolina (Sept. 27), plus a spring stop at Rutgers (March 9). He included Miami, Texas, South Carolina, Georgia, FSU, UNC, Tennessee and Rutgers in his mid-July top eight.

Over the weekend, Tyson got the chance to see the Miami RB room without top-back Mark Fletcher Jr. In the game, freshman Girard Pringle Jr. led the way with seven carries for 55 yards and a score. CharMar Brown (eight rushes for 40 yards) and Jordan Lyle (seven carries for 17 yards) added some support in the ground game as well.
The underclassmen led the day for Miami's offense and that might be a positive signal to Tyson. An idea of early playing time could bode well when he decides to make his commitment decision.
Freshman WR's Daylyn Upshaw and Malachi Toney also made an impact on Saturday. Toney has been a staple, but the playing time from the young guys on offense was good to see.
Miami has recently made splashes in the 2026 Class with the commitment of four-star safety J.J. Dunnigan on Sunday and four-star edge rusher DeAnthony Lafayette on Monday. In the 2026 Class rankings, Miami now sits at No. 10 in the country with 27 commitment (per Rivals/On3).
