The Miami Hurricanes are expected to hire Army associate head coach and offensive line coach Mike Viti as their new tight ends coach. Miami is replacing Cody Woodiel, who left for Ole Miss earlier this offseason.
Viti has been a long-time fixture at West Point. He was in his 10th season as an assistant coach at Army and was promoted in the winter of 2025 to associate head coach/offensive line. Viti has coached Army's offensive line since 2022, and now he's be tasked with Miami's tight end room.

Viti comes from a program built on physicality, detail and a run-game identity. Army's offensive line won the 2024 Joe Moore Award, given annually to the nation's top line. Army totaled 4,207 rushing yards and 48 rushing touchdowns in 2024 on the way to that honor.
Before taking over the offensive line, he coached in the backfield, including running backs, and worked with multiple rooms that ranked among the country's best in rushing production.
As a player, Viti was an Army fullback from 2004-07 and a team captain, and he logged 91 career carries and 30 receptions.
After graduating from West Point in 2008, he served as a U.S. Army officer, including a deployment to Afghanistan, and earned military honors that include the Bronze Star and Combat Action Badge.
