Julius Jones Jr., a four-star wideout from national powerhouse St. Thomas Aquinas in Fort Lauderdale, has narrowed his recruitment to eight schools and kept the Miami Hurricanes on the list. The rest of the group includes LSU, Oregon, Michigan, Florida, Texas, Notre Dame and Florida State.

Jones is listed at 5-foot-11 and 160 pounds. Per On3/Rivals, he's slotted No. 70 nationally, No. 12 at wide receiver and No. 7 in Florida in the 2027 class.

Julius Jones Jr. includes Miami in final eight schools

As a sophomore in 2024, Jones led Aquinas in receiving with 51 catches for 750 yards and six touchdowns, averaging 14.7 yards per catch.

Jones took another step forward as a junior. For the 2025 season, he logged 58 receptions for 876 yards and 14 receiving touchdowns.

In St. Thomas Aquinas' state championship win over Lakeland in 2025, Jones had seven catches for 127 yards, one of the top offensive performances on the night.

Jones was also named MVP of the Under Armour Future 50 camp and later earned an invite to play in the 2026 Under Armour All-America Game.

Jones is the son of former Notre Dame running back Julius Jones who rushed for 3,018 yards and 27 touchdowns in his college career before becoming a second-round NFL Draft pick and playing in the league. Jones Jr. took an unofficial visit to Notre Dame on Sept. 13, 2025.

He also took an unofficial visit to Miami on Aug. 31, 2025, where he got to see the Hurricanes defeat Notre Dame.

It might be difficult for Miami to get Jones to commit since he is a Notre Dame legacy. But, to be included in the final eight schools is all a part of the process for Mario Cristobal and his staff. And, since he's a local prospect, the odds are higher than some might think initially.
