The nation's No. 1 prospect in the 2028 class, Brysen Wright, will visit Miami on Oct. 17, and his father, Colby Wright, has said that "Miami is kind of killing it right now."

That comment, which Colby Wright made back in July, comes as Mario Cristobal's Hurricanes sit at 5-0 and No. 4 in the AP Top 25 poll.

The Rivals industry ranking has him as the No. 1 prospect, the No. 1 wide receiver and the No. 1 player in Florida, with a rating of 98.03.

Wright sets return visit to Miami for Florida State matchup

Cristobal and the Hurricanes are set to host Wright for the Florida State game at Hard Rock Stadium after the bye week. It will be his fourth trip to Miami, which is more than he has logged with any other school.

Florida State is 3-2 and plays at Louisville on Friday before traveling to Miami. The Hurricanes have won the last two meetings, including a 28-22 victory in Tallahassee last October.

Florida, Texas and Ohio State are still in the running

A Sept. 26 game-day stop in Gainesville has kept Florida in the mix. The Gators look to be one of the programs that is seriously challenging for Wright's services, but Ohio State and Texas are also in competition.

Wright's high school production

Wright is in his junior season at Mandarin and in addition to his work as a WR, he also lines up at safety. This season he has logged 26 receptions for 579 yards and seven touchdowns in six games (an average of 22.3 yards per catch and 96.5 receiving yards per game). Mandarin is 5-1 after a 33-17 win over Lake Mary on Friday.

In his sophomore season, Wright put up 46 receptions for 983 yards and 10 touchdowns. As a freshman he had 31 receptions for 646 yards and eight touchdowns.

Wright plays at Mandarin High School with QB Knox Annis who has committed to the Hurricanes.
