Miami WR Joshisa Trader has entered the transfer portal. Trader's move comes during the special five-day portal window available to players on teams that played deep into January. Miami and Indiana players have a timeframe of Jan. 20-24 to enter the portal after the CFP title game.

Miami WR JoJo Trader enters the transfer portal
Trader signed with Miami as one of the program's highest-upside offensive recruits in the 2024 class.
247Sports rated him a 96 as a prospect and listed him as the No. 70 player nationally and the No. 14 wide receiver in the 2024 class. A South Florida product, Trader helped Chaminade-Madonna win a Florida state title and posted 47 catches for 473 yards and seven touchdowns as a junior, after a 592-yard, six-touchdown sophomore season at Miami Central.
On the field for the Hurricanes, Trader totaled 19 catches for 269 yards and two touchdowns over two seasons. He caught 13 passes for 178 yards and one touchdown in 2025. As a true freshman in 2024, Trader played in seven games and finished with six catches for 91 yards and a touchdown.
For Miami, the departure is a culmination of missed opportunities for Trader. Unfortunately, despite being one of the top WR's in the South Florida region and choosing to stay home, Trader never received consistent playing time. In two years at Miami, Trader started four total games, but he clearly has major upside.
The WR room went through a massive overhaul in 2025 after losing its top six pass catchers. Trader was not able to carve out a role for himself, partially due to multiple veteran WR transfers and the rise of true freshman Malachi Toney.
Trader will have multiple years of eligibility remaining at his next stop, and if he can put it all together, he will be dangerous for opposing defenses.
