Miami is going to have plenty of options in the transfer portal this winter. But if the Hurricanes want to have the best WR duo in the country, then Auburn wide receiver Cam Coleman is the correct pairing next to Malachi Toney in 2026.

Coleman plans to enter the transfer portal when it opens on Jan. 2. He is a player positioned to command major interest nationally.

Auburn WR Cam Coleman is a perfect fit for Miami

Coleman is listed at 6-foot-3 and 201 pounds and put up 56 catches for 708 yards and five touchdowns this season. Over two seasons at Auburn, he totaled 93 receptions for 1,306 yards and 13 touchdowns.

The appeal for the Hurricanes is what Coleman represents stylistically next to Toney. Toney currently has 89 receptions for 992 yards and eight touchdowns as a freshman. He has the quickness and versatility that can dominate the slot and the return game. With at least one more game to go, Toney has another chance to show the world that he is the best freshman in the country.

Coleman, meanwhile, is an outside receiver you can trust in the red zone, or when you need a contested catch on third down. That is something that could be even more valuable to Miami, as they will have another new starter in 2026. If the Canes go with a QB that is already in-house, having two receivers like Coleman and Toney will help the maturation process.

The chase for Coleman β€” if Miami is serious about the pairing β€” will not be easy. Several big-name programs are potential suitors, including Oklahoma, Texas, USC, Alabama and Ohio State. And it makes sense... when the No. 1 player in the portal is a receiver with two years of eligibility, everybody is going to be calling.
