After two quality wins against high caliber opponents, the Miami Hurricanes are becoming one of college football's most intriguing stories.

For many Miami Hurricane football enthusiasts, initially, winning a hard-fought defensive battle against the Texas A&M Aggies, then becoming victorious over the Ohio State Buckeyes, has superseded the expectations of many who side with the Hurricanes program.

The Hurricanes faltering in those two ACC games have now become a distant memory. Fortunately, the Miami Hurricanes have adjusted quite well and favorably when one factors the magnitude that two straight road victories against quality opponents, who critics deemed the Canes were inferior to, which has propelled the tenth ranked program in the country into the national spotlight.

It is quite amazing how the Hurricanes have suddenly become college football's "successful underdog."

Defying the odds is synonymous with teams who have come out of nowhere to have a chance to compete for a national title when many critics and experts predicted otherwise. Thus far, coach Mario Cristobal and staff have the Miami Hurricanes playing well in all three phases of the game.

There is a renewed confidence that many Hurricane fans can rely upon after the Canes two consecutive stellar performances.

For many years, the Miami Hurricanes football program have wallowed in unprecedented mediocrity before the arrival of former Canes coaching legend, the late, great, Howard Schnellenberger, who was instrumental in the Miami Hurricanes initial success in the early 1980s.

Could the Hurricanes have a repeat of rising from mediocrity and obscurity in the same way that the Canes team in the 1983 college football season demonstrated?

With this all-important matchup against the Ole Miss Rebels looming, the 2025 Miami Hurricanes have a superb chance of repeating that great feat the 1983 team conquered. Regardless of the outcome, the Canes have exceeded the expectations of most.

With this final contest, the Miami Hurricanes have a chance to enter into the College Football Playoff Championship game, which would become remarkable, since this is the Hurricanes initial participation in the CPF run.
