Behind a career night from freshman wing Shelton Henderson, the Miami Hurricanes beat Ole Miss 75-66 on Tuesday in the ACC/SEC Challenge, snapping a road skid and grabbing the kind of non-conference win that is very promising.

Miami beats Ole Miss 75-66
Henderson led Miami with a season-high 18 points and stuffed the stat sheet with nine rebounds, five steals and two blocks. He scored Miami's first two baskets, had nine early points with the Hurricanes up 12-11 and never cooled off.
Tru Washington added 17 points, Malik Reneau finished with 15 and point guard Tre Donaldson chipped in 11 as Miami improved to 7-2 and picked up its first win in the ACC/SEC Challenge. The victory also snapped a 16-game road losing streak and marked the program’s first road win since beating Notre Dame on Jan. 24, 2024.
Miami did its work from the perimeter and on the glass. The Hurricanes hit a season-high 11 three-pointers and shot 49.1% from the field, including 44% from beyond the arc, numbers that helped offset 19 turnovers. Ole Miss, now 5-3 after its third straight loss, was held to 34.8% shooting on 23-of-66 from the floor.
After Henderson's fast start, Donaldson buried a pair of threes to stretch the lead to 21-14, and the Hurricanes went 8-for-15 from deep in the first half to take a 42-26 edge into the break. Early in the second half, Henderson's two-handed tip jam pushed the margin to 49-31, and Miami would lead by as many as 19.
The Rebels cut the lead to nine twice in the second half, the last time with 5:29 to play, but Miami kept the cushion in double figures until the final seconds and never let the game truly slip into one-possession territory.
The Hurricanes were without their top two reserves, as Dante Allen (upper body) is expected to miss multiple weeks and Marcus Allen (lower body) remains day-to-day. Next up, Miami returns home to face Southern Miss on Saturday at noon on ACC Network.
