The College Football Playoff field is finally set. Indiana grabbed the No. 1 overall seed, three conference champions locked in byes and Miami and Alabama squeezed into the bracket while Notre Dame was left on the outside looking in.

2025 College Football Playoff

The top of the bracket played out the way most projections expected after championship weekend. Undefeated Indiana, fresh off a 13-10 win over Ohio State in the Big Ten title game, sits at No. 1 with a 13-0 record. The Buckeyes slid to No. 2 at 12-1, followed by SEC champion Georgia at No. 3 and Big 12 champ Texas Tech at No. 4, all of them earning first-round byes.

Behind them, Oregon is No. 5 after an 11-1 regular season that fell short of a Big Ten title-game berth. Ole Miss is No. 6, Texas A&M comes in at No. 7 and Oklahoma lands at No. 8. Alabama is the 9 seed at 10-3, Miami is 10th at 10-2, Tulane takes the 11 seed and James Madison rounds out the field as the 12 seed.

No. 9 Alabama will visit No. 8 Oklahoma, with the winner earning a showdown against top-seeded Indiana. No. 12 James Madison heads to Autzen Stadium to face No. 5 Oregon, and that winner will move on to play No. 4 Texas Tech. On the other side of the bracket, No. 11 Tulane goes to No. 6 Ole Miss, with the winner drawing No. 3 Georgia in the quarterfinals. The last first-round game is the No. 10 Miami at No. 7 Texas A&M, with a trip to Columbus to face No. 2 Ohio State on the line.

Miami getting in over Notre Dame completes a months-long argument that has dominated the sport. Now it's time to show why the committee got it right.
