The University of Miami continues to make strides in its 2026 recruiting efforts, as four-star defensive lineman Keshawn Stancil has included the Hurricanes in his top five schools. Stancil, a 6-foot-3, 270-pound DL from Clayton High School in North Carolina announced his narrowed list which also features Penn State, Georgia, NC State, and Clemson.

Ranked as the No. 15 defensive lineman in the 2026 class by On3, Stancil has been pursued by multiple top programs across the country. His junior season stats include 63 tackles, 23 TFL's, nine sacks and three forced fumbles.

Miami's coaching staff, led by head coach Mario Cristobal, has been proactive in recruiting Stancil. Defensive tackles coach Damione Lewis and Hall of Famer Jason Taylor have been instrumental in building a relationship with Stancil.

Stancil expressed appreciation for the coaching staff's experience and the culture they've cultivated, stating, "Just the coaching, the culture, there's a lot of experience on that coaching staff. And just to be able to get coached, to be able to say you're being recruited by a Hall of Famer (in defensive line coach Jason Taylor), and coach Lewis has been in the game for a long time. That's good to me."

Stancil has scheduled official visits with several of his top choices. He visited Georgia on May 16 and is set to visit Miami on May 30, Penn State on June 6 and NC State on June 20. NC State provides a strong case to land Stancil as they are only 30 minutes away from him. Clemson is also in close proximity but it appears like Miami and Georgia won't go away easily. Both the Hurricanes and Bulldogs are known for developing talent in the trenches and that could sway Stancil into choosing either program.

The Hurricanes 2026 recruiting class has 11 commitments, including eight blue-chip prospects. Notable commits include offensive linemen Jackson Cantwell and Ben Congdon as well as quarterback Dereon Coleman.
