Defensive back Keionte Scott, who is expected to be out for the remainder of the season and wide receiver Tony Johnson are the only key players for Miami listed as out on the initial Student-Athlete Availability Reporting update posted by the ACC on Thursday night.
Defensive tackle David Blay Jr. is questionable and cornerback O.J. Frederique is probable for Miami against Virginia Tech. As noticeable for Miami for who is on the injury report, are that running back Mark Fletcher Jr. and wide receiver C.J. Daniels are not listed for the first time in weeks.
Daniels and Frederique have been out since the Stanford game on October 25 and Fletcher has not played since Miami lost at SMU on November 1. Blay had played through injuries during the past couple of weeks after being named on the Student-Athlete Availability Reporting update.
The list for Virginia Tech is extensive. Safety Quentin Reddish, reserve defensive lineman James Jennette and starting right guard Montavious Cunningham are players on the depth chart who are listed as out for Virginia Tech.

Linebacker Gabe Williams, safety Isaiah Cash and offensive lineman Jaden Muskrat are questionable for Virginia Tech. Freshman Gavin Crawford is the backup to Cunningham. Despite the extensive list of players listed as out for Virginia Tech, the Hokies have most of their key players healthy for Miami on Saturday.
It will be worth watching if Miami has Daniels and Fletcher on snap counts against Virginia Tech. Keelon Marion has significantly increased his production with Daniels out and true freshman Girard Pringle Jr. has been an impactful player for Miami with Fletcher Jr. out.
Expect Pringle Jr. to continue to be a factor even with Fletcher Jr. healthy. The ACC will release its next Student-Athlete Availability Reporting update on Friday at 8 PM Eastern Standard Time. The game day Student-Athlete Availability Reporting update is released two hours before kickoff which is 10 AM this Saturday.
