Julius Jones Jr., a four-star 2027 wide receiver from St. Thomas Aquinas in Fort Lauderdale, was in a Miami uniform during his official visit to Coral Gables, adding another interesting layer to one of the more important local recruitments on the Hurricanes' board.
In a recruitment that has felt like Notre Dame's to lose, Miami looks to be making a serious push.

WR Julius Jones Jr. visits Coral Gables
Jones' recruitment decision is between Miami, Notre Dame and Oregon. Miami hosted Jones as part of its first official visit weekend of the summer, a loaded group that also included several high-end targets and current Hurricanes commits.
Jones plays at St. Thomas Aquinas, one of the best high school programs in the country and one of the schools Miami has to recruit hard in every cycle.
The Rivals Industry Ranking has Jones as the No. 84 overall player, No. 15 wide receiver and No. 9 prospect in Florida in the 2027 class. 247Sports has him as the No. 114 overall player, No. 15 wide receiver and No. 14 player in Florida.
He had 58 catches for 876 yards and 14 touchdowns during his junior season at St. Thomas Aquinas while helping the Raiders win their seventh straight state championship.
Jones is the son of former Notre Dame running back Julius Jones, who rushed for 3,018 yards for the Fighting Irish before becoming a second-round pick of the Dallas Cowboys in the 2004 NFL Draft. That legacy tie will be tough to beat, even if the local ties are present.
Jones is scheduled to visit Oregon on June 5 before wrapping up with Notre Dame on June 11. His commitment decision is currently set for June 27, so Miami will get an extra chance to keep communication strong before he makes the call.
