Miami already has one of the best defensive back groups in the 2027 recruiting cycle, but the Hurricanes are still trying to add more. Four-star cornerback Kamil Loud, a Bishop Gorman standout from Las Vegas, named Miami in his final six along with Washington, Auburn, California, Florida State and Utah.

Miami makes final group for 4-star CB Kamil Loud

Loud is a 2027 cornerback from one of the top high school programs in the country. 247Sports' Composite rankings have him No. 403 nationally, No. 40 among cornerbacks and No. 3 in Nevada. 247Sports' own rankings have Loud as the No. 60 cornerback and No. 5 player in Nevada.

The Rivals Industry Ranking has him No. 357 nationally, No. 39 among cornerbacks and No. 3 in Nevada, while ESPN is higher on him nationally at No. 275 overall and No. 28 at the position.

Bishop Gorman finished the 2025 season with another Nevada state title, beating Arbor View 44-7 in the championship game.

Miami's cornerback class is already strong

Miami's 2027 class is No. 4 nationally and No. 1 in the ACC in the On3/Rivals Industry Team Recruiting Rankings. The class already includes five-star cornerback Donte Wright, four-star cornerback Ai'King Hall, four-star safety Jaylyn Jones and cornerback Sherrod Gourdine.

Wright is the leader in the clubhouse among CBs. He is ranked No. 8 nationally, No. 2 among cornerbacks and No. 1 in California in the On3/Rivals Industry Ranking. Hall is No. 74 nationally and No. 11 at the position.

The Hurricanes allowed 204.9 passing yards per game last year, ranking 43rd nationally, while holding opponents to 6.3 yards per attempt with 13 touchdowns and 16 interceptions. Miami also took on a decent DB haul in the last recruiting cycle so it will be interesting to see how many Mario Cristobal and his staff bring in for 2027.
